Queensland
Australia

Queensland is a state located in the northeast of Australia, and is very well known for the Great Barrier Reef, the largest coral reef system in the world. Its capital city, Brisbane, is a great city that combines eclectic art, music and fantastic restaurants with outdoor adventure and beautiful beaches and islands to explore. However, Queensland is not just tropical islands, beaches and theme parks.
Have you ever wanted to walk through a lava tube? Take a trip to Undara National Park in Outback Queensland, home to 164 volcanoes, cones and vents. You can only access the lava tubes via guided tour, but it’s definitely a family friendly experience you’ll never forget!
For a change of scenery you might venture off to Daintree Rainforest, the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. Marvel in the beauty that was the inspiration for the movie, Avatar, while standing under the branches of the 600 million year old Zamia Fern, or cruise down the Daintree River in search of turtles and crocodiles.
Visit Kuranda, and take a ride on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and soar high above the pristine rainforest for incredible views, while also catching some glimpses of the coast. To change things up, instead of traveling back down the way you came up on the gondola, opt to return via the Kuranda Scenic Railway, for a unique journey past spectacular waterfalls, mountain views, the stunning Baron Gorge, and more!
If you crave an adrenaline rush, you can face your fears by heading to the Q1 Building and climbing the summit on the Sky point Climb. The Q1 Building is Australia’s tallest residential building, standing at 270 metres aboveground, and is taller than the Chrysler Building in New York City!
